An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
