Automobiles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Police reported they were alerted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other smeared cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.

City officials announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for information.

A senior political figure stated the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.

"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
